At the First Sekai Kyudo Taikai held recently in Tokyo there was Princess Takamado. Princess Takamado is a member of Japanese Imperial Family and she’s Honorary Chairman of The International Kyudo Federation.
In the recent First Sekai Kyudo Taikai held in Tokyo, in addition to the team competition, there were also three individual competitions: one for up to sandan, one for yondan and upper and the other for shogo.
In all competitions kyudoka had to shoot two arrows and hit the target with both to qualify to the finals.
Shogo classification:
Hoff Feliks – Germany – Kyoushi 6 dan (on the right in the picture)
Luzet Claude – France – Kyoushi 6 dan (on the left in the picture)
The bronze medal were not assigned because only 2 kyudoka qualified hitting 2/2
Yon dan and upper classification:
Shannon Cynthia – USA – IV dan
Mudan – san dan classification
I don’t remember the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If someone know it please tell me the names.
Twenty countries from all over the world have partecipated to the event. The first three placement are:
Gold Medal: France
Silver Medal: UK
Bronze Medal: Finland
In the semifinal the winner team placed a fantastic 12 hitting on 12 shooting that means that all the three archers have paced in the target all the arrows they shooted (in Japanese this is called Kaichu). Congratulation to the winners. Good also the 4th position of Italy.
In the picture you can see the first and second place final between UK (on the left) and France (on the right)
